Meet the Doctors
Mark White, O.D.
Dr. Mark White grew up in Detroit, attended Michigan State University and received his doctorate of optometry in 1976 from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois.
His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, Michigan Optometric Association, Association of Military Surgeons of the U.S. and Reserve Officer Association.
Dr. White has held the positions of Associate Clinical Professor of Optometry, Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University, Manager of Professional Services for Bausch & Lomb Canada and Chief of Optometry Services, 927th Aerospace Medicine Flight at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan. Dr. White is a veteran of Desert Storm and retired as a Lt. Colonel after 21 years of service in the Air Force Reserve.
Dr. White has advanced training and extensive experience in diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, laser vision correction and specialty contact lenses.
Locally, Dr. White and his wife Laura live in Dewitt with their two golden retrievers, Daisy and Annie. He is active in the Dewitt Redeemer United Methodist Church, past president of the St. Johns Lions Club and currently is a director of the Water Wonderland Chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society. In his spare time, Dr. White enjoys restoring antique wooden boats and is the proud owner of an award winning 1950 Chris Craft Racing Runabout.
Edward Peters, O.D.
Dr. Edward Peters grew up in Mason, and received his Doctorate of Optometry in 1986 from Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University. His professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association and Michigan Optometric Association.
Dr. Peters previously owned and operated Doctors of Optometry of Lens Crafters of Okemos, and Professional Eye Care Center of East Lansing. He has been the president of Avery Eye Care Center in St. Johns since 1988. Dr. Peters and his wife Sara live in St. Johns with their two sons, Eddie and Zach. He is a member at Dewitt Redeemer United Methodist Church, treasurer of the St Johns Youth Athletic Association, The Grid Iron Club, and board member of St. Johns City Parks and Recreation. Dr. Peters enjoys playing golf and basketball and spending time with his family.
