Dr. Thu To
Dr. Thu To is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a minor in Spanish. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. To had practiced in the Minneapolis and Chicagoland area before joining Avery Eye Care in 2014. She is multilingual with proficiency in both Vietnamese and Spanish.
In 2010, she moved to the East Lansing area with her husband when he joined the faculty of Michigan State University as a Professor of Physics. Dr. To has two sons and enjoys cooking and traveling as well as hiking, biking, and enjoying nature.
Dr. To has interests in contact lenses, co-management of cataract and Lasik surgery, as well as management of dry eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetes.
Really like my doctor, Dr. To. She is sweet and very efficient. Explains everything and gives a very thorough exam. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We are lucky to have Avery Vision in our city.
The support staff was friendly and welcoming. Dr. To was so informative and took the time to explain things thoroughly. The staff that did the preliminary exams and then helped me pick out my glasses also were very knowledgeable and friendly. | liked the vibe in the office. People seemed to genuinely enjoy their job.

Dr. To is literally the BEST eye doctor, EVER!!! In my 40 years of needing eye care, | thought Dr Peters was great, then Dr White was Amazing and | didn’t think anyone could take his place when he retired. Then, | met Dr To. She is SO personable, SO smart, she laughs and truly seems to love her job and her patients. Dr To listens and cares. At first | thought she’s just friendly to me, it’s everyone!! You can hear her laugh walking down the hall and in other rooms. It is truly a joy knowing someone cares so much about their patients, that she’s goes above and beyond to meet your needs, and she LOVES her job!! Her personality, positivity, and pure happiness for life is contagious. Thank you Dr To for being an all around wonderful person! | appreciate you and your giant kind and caring heart. Thank you for making my eye care health a priority, and each appointment a positive experience.
